Not sure what could top the last posting, so I decided that I won't even try. I know that many people enjoyed reading Josh's e-mail and hearing "his voice" on the blog. He does have internet access in his hut now, so he is able to send more e-mails. I will post/share as much as I can whenever he writes. We have only e-mailed or IMed this week, and for once, it has been an opportunity for us to just chat, vent, or laugh with each other.
To pass the time, some keep busy with video games... "Well not much to report here other than that everyone is continuing to work hard to master all levels of Guitar Hero 3 and Madden's Baseball."
He said that it is light there by 4:00 a.m. and gets dark around 6:30 or 7:00 p.m.
Josh is very excited that tomorrow starts the "double digits of May!"
His unit calls him "Baci", hence the title. Josh continues to amaze me with his strength and courage and the sacrifice he is making for all of us. I hope to share as much of Josh's journey through this blog. Unfortunately, Josh may not be able to access this once he is in Afghanistan, so the updates most likely will come from me, as told or written by Josh.

As of Tuesday, December 23 at 10:10 a.m., they were in Ft. Bragg!!!
As of Tuesday, December 23 at 6:05 a.m., he was on US SOIL!!!!!!
As of Monday, December 22 at 9:00 p.m., they were in Ireland.
As of Friday, December 19 at 8:30 am ET, he was in Kyrgyzstan.

Thank you for thinking of Josh! If you are interested in sending a package to Josh, please remember smaller boxes (less than 5 - 10 pounds) or bubble envelopes work well for sending and receiving. An updated list of items has been provided at the very bottom of this site. This will be continuously updated as items are requested or changed.

At this time, we have been told to not send any letters or packages. Thank you for wanting to support Josh in this way.
Here is a listing of the items that you can send to Josh and his platoon while they are in Afghanistan. This will be updated once the platoon arrives and is settled and the requests for items start (or news that they are overstocked)!

* Magazines - If you are sending magazines from home, please cut out your address if it is home-delivered.

He already receives the Smithsonian and National Geographic, but any other reading materials will do!
* Toiletry Items - Please double bag any liquids. If it can leak, it will.
- Razors -Gillette Power Razor Refills
- Body Wash

- Zip Ties
- Rags/cloths for weapon cleaning
* Other Items
- iTunes Gift Cards
- Calling Cards (AT&T)
- DVDs (helpful to send in a CD jewel case, outside of the actual DVD package)

* Please do not send any items to be passed out to the Afghani people.

- Illegal copies of anything (movies, etc.)
- Alcohol, drugs, pornography, weapons of any kind (even toy ones)
